Web Programmer - PHP

DigiCoyote is a full service web software and print design company founded in 2000, and located in Vancouver, and Victoria British Columbia. We are currently looking for a Vancouver based, motivated web programmer who has a strong desire to work as part of a team.  As a web programmer you participate in the systems design, development and maintenance of dynamic web sites and web applications.  Ideally, candidates should have experience working with PHP framework and managing websites on a Linux/Apache server.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and manage websites on a Linux/Apache web server environment
  • Set-up and work with PHP and various frameworks and extensions (CAKE and PEAR)
  • Set-up and manage version control software (Subversion)
  • Work with project managers to assess clients’ needs and implement business logic and functionality
  • Create clean, commented and object oriented code in a timely manner
  • Visualize and implement fully normalized data bases

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A 2-year degree or diploma from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working with PHP, Apache, Linux, MySQL is essential
  • Experience working with .NET, Perl, Python, Java, XML, is an asset
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
  • High level of professionalism and a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills, highly motivated and energetic
  • All applicants should have excellent English language communication skills; working knowledge of other languages is an advantage
